2.1 Provided by Parents
Only parents or guardians create family accounts. Parents provide:
- Names: First names or nicknames only (no last names required)
- Avatars: Cartoon avatars from our library or custom photos
- Tasks & rewards: Created and managed entirely by parents
2.2 Provided by Children
Children may provide:
- Task completion photos: Stored securely in iCloud
- Chat messages: Visible only to family members
2.3 What We Do NOT Collect
- โ Email addresses from children
- โ Phone numbers or physical addresses
- โ Location data
- โ Device identifiers for advertising
- โ Any behavioral data for third parties
3. How We Use Your Information
We use information solely to:
- Provide the Kids Quest family task management service
- Sync data between family members' devices via Apple iCloud
- Enable parents to manage tasks, rewards, and family members
We never use children's information for marketing or any commercial purpose.
4. Data Storage & Security
4.1 Apple iCloud (CloudKit)
All family data is stored exclusively in Apple's iCloud infrastructure:
- Encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest
- Stored in Apple's certified data centers
- We do not operate our own servers or databases
- We cannot access your raw iCloud data
4.2 Local Device Storage
Some data is cached locally for offline functionality, protected by iOS security features.
5. Third-Party Services
Kids Quest uses no third-party services that collect data from children. We only use Apple's native frameworks: CloudKit, StoreKit, and standard iOS APIs.
6. Parental Rights (COPPA)
Parents and guardians have the right to:
- Review all data associated with their children
- Edit any information about their children
- Delete children's profiles and all associated data
- Refuse further collection of children's information

7. In-App Purchases
- All purchases processed through Apple's App Store
- Purchase options visible only in Parent profiles
- Children see an "Ask Parent" screen โ no access to purchase screens

3. Apple Screen Time API
Earn Time uses Apple's FamilyControls framework to:
- Block apps when earned screen time runs out
- Unlock apps when time is earned through completed tasks
This data is processed entirely on-device by Apple's own framework. No screen time usage data is ever sent to our servers or any third party.
4. Data Storage & Security
All family data (tasks, rewards, member profiles) is stored in Apple's iCloud using CloudKit:
- Encrypted in transit and at rest
- Accessible only by your family members
- We operate no independent servers or databases

Parents can review, edit, or delete all family data at any time within the app settings, or by contacting support@kidsquest.app.
