1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Kids Quest ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms") and our Privacy Policy.

For Parents/Guardians: By creating a family account and adding children, you consent on behalf of your children to these Terms and acknowledge that you have read our Privacy Policy.

For Children: Please ask your parent or guardian to read these Terms with you. You should only use this app with your parent's permission.

2. Age Requirements and Parental Consent

2.1 Kids Category App

Kids Quest is designed for children and their families. The app is rated 4+ and listed in the Apple App Store Kids Category, complying with all Kids Category requirements.

2.2 Parental Consent Required

• Children under 13 may only use Kids Quest with parental consent and supervision
• Parents must create the family account and add children to it
• By adding a child to your family, you provide consent for them to use the app
• Parents are responsible for monitoring their children's use of the app

2.3 Profile-Based Protection

Kids Quest uses separate Parent and Child profiles to protect sensitive features:

• Purchase options are only visible in Parent profiles
• Children see an "Ask Parents" screen instead of purchase options
• Parent-only settings are not accessible from Child profiles

3. Description of Service

Kids Quest is a family task management app that allows:

• Parents: Create tasks, set rewards, manage family members, approve completed tasks
• Children: View assigned tasks, submit completion proofs, earn stars, redeem rewards
• Family: Chat within the family, create polls, view shared calendar

4. Account and Family Groups

4.1 Family Creation

When you create a family group, you become the family administrator (Parent role). You are responsible for:

• Managing all family members
• Creating age-appropriate tasks and rewards
• Reviewing and approving children's task submissions
• Ensuring appropriate use of the family chat

4.2 Family Code Security

Each family receives a unique 6-character code. Keep this code private and share it only with people you want in your family group.

4.3 Multiple Devices

Family data syncs across devices using Apple iCloud. All family members must be signed into iCloud on their devices for synchronization to work.

5. Content Guidelines

5.1 Appropriate Content

All content in Kids Quest must be family-friendly and appropriate for children. This includes:

• Family member names and nicknames
• Task titles and descriptions
• Photo proofs of completed tasks
• Reward names and descriptions
• Chat messages and voice messages

5.2 Prohibited Content

You may NOT upload or share content that:

• Contains violence, adult themes, or inappropriate material
• Is harmful, threatening, bullying, or harassing
• Contains profanity or offensive language
• Promotes illegal activities
• Contains personal information of people outside your family
• Infringes on intellectual property rights

5.3 Content Responsibility

Parents are responsible for all content uploaded by their children. We recommend parents periodically review photos and messages in the app.

6. Purchases and Payments

6.1 Free Trial

Kids Quest offers a free trial period. During the trial, you have access to all features.

6.2 One-Time Purchase

After the trial, a one-time purchase unlocks full access permanently. There are no subscriptions or recurring charges.

6.3 Purchase Protection for Kids

• Purchase options are only visible in Parent profiles
• Children see an "Ask Your Parent" screen instead of purchase options
• Child profiles cannot access any purchase screens
• Apple's "Ask to Buy" feature provides additional protection

6.4 Payment Processing

All payments are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect or store any payment information.

6.5 Refunds

Refund requests must be submitted to Apple through the App Store. We cannot process refunds directly.

7. Data and Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Please read our Privacy Policy for complete details on how we handle your data. Key points:

• No third-party advertising or analytics
• No data sharing with third parties
• All data stored securely in Apple iCloud
• Parents have full control over children's data
• COPPA compliant

8. iCloud Requirements

Kids Quest uses Apple iCloud for data storage and sync:

• An iCloud account is required for cloud sync features
• Offline mode is available for single-device use
• You agree to Apple's iCloud Terms of Service
• We are not responsible for iCloud service availability

9. Intellectual Property

Kids Quest, including its design, artwork, avatars, icons, and functionality, is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the app without permission.

10. Safety and Moderation

10.1 Family-Only Communication

The chat feature in Kids Quest only allows communication between members of the same family group. There is no public chat or communication with strangers.

10.2 Reporting Concerns

If you have concerns about inappropriate content or behavior within your family group, please contact us at support@kidsquest.app.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• Kids Quest is provided "as is" without warranties
• We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages
• We are not responsible for data loss due to device or iCloud issues
• Our total liability is limited to the amount paid for the app

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms occasionally. We will notify users of significant changes through the app. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

13. Termination

We may terminate access to Kids Quest for violation of these Terms. You may stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration.
